Celebrate the Season with These 5 Easy Spring Crafts

It’s time to get out the glue sticks and construction paper, and begin celebrating the sunny season of spring! We’ve tried these five easy spring crafts, and we think your kids will really enjoy them.

Sidewalk Chalk Activities

Growing up, the first thing I would do when the weather warmed up was grab the sidewalk chalk and create a hopscotch board. This obstacle course board puts a fun spin on the classic, and there are so many other options! You can paint your favorite colors on pavers for a permanent option, or make it a learning experience by hopping across the planets toward the sun.

Gardens in a Jar

Making an outdoor garden is a delicious and healthy teaching opportunity, but if you don’t have the lawn space, there are indoor options, too. All you need is a jar, some paper towels, water, and seeds! Tip: Green beans and peas sprout quickly if you want to see your efforts grow sooner than later. You can also personalize the jars by painting them!

Homemade Kite

Springtime means the air is light, and the colors are bright! What better way to bring aspects of the season together than by making a lively kite to fly? Personalize them as much as possible with your favorite colors, and have your children decorate them with markers.

DIY Bird Feeder

Birds are an astounding resource for science education, and you can learn about them up close this spring by bringing them to the open air near your home with a homemade bird feeder. You just need some Popsicle sticks and string for this one.

Unicorn Kinetic Sand

Colors come to life in the springtime through flowers, birds, and more. Add some color to your playtime activities by making unicorn kinetic sand, and enjoy squishing it, shaping it, and playing with it. Kinetic sand is such a great therapeutic and sensory tool, too. Let your students play with the sand while listening to you read, and you may be surprised to see that it helps them focus.
