Giving students a fun way to explore STEM education and an opportunity to be recognized for their talents is the goal of online curriculum provider K12‘s annual STEM Contest.

To enter, create a video showing a creation you think could change the world, solve an everyday problem, or would just be fun. Your creation can be related to energy & environment, health & nutrition, aerospace & aviation, or cybersecurity & technology. Make sure to include your hypothesis, and a visual of your creation.

So, what will you create? Think big. Think small. Think weather. Think space. Think food. Think drink. Think ANYTHING!

Here are some important details to know about K12’s STEM Contest:

  • Submissions must be related to: energy & environment, health & nutrition, aerospace & aviation, or cybersecurity & technology.
  • It’s open to all students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • A finalist will be chosen for each grade, and will receive a ribbon, a plaque of recognition, and a science kit.
  • A Best in Show winner will be chosen in addition to the grade level winners, and will receive a ribbon, a plaque of recognition, a science kit, and a science magazine subscription of their choice.
  • Each and every student who submits their creative expression of innovation will receive a certificate of participation.
  • All finalists’ work will be featured in an online gallery.
  • All submissions must be received here by 5 PM EST Friday, January 30th.
