5 Best Breakfasts to Try This Weekend

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and really does help kids learn. That means that it is imperative that your family starts off every day with a balanced breakfast. During the week, there may be limited time to make the best breakfast that’s healthy and delicious, so take more time this weekend to incorporate seasonal “brain foods” into your morning meal. Plus, kids can help in the kitchen to gain valuable skills and some math practice while they measure ingredients! Here are Learning Liftoff’s editors’ picks for the top snacks, crafts, and other fun activities for this weekend, October 17-19.

I thought of making roasted pumpkin into a quiche when I was thinking about all that wasted pumpkin we get after carving our Halloween pumpkins. All you have to do is roast the chunks you remove when carving the pumpkin, and use them to make your quiche. Serve this savory pumpkin quiche with a simple salad, such as poached pears over spring greens.

The nutrients in pumpkin are really world-class, making it a known super food. Make sure it’s part of your diet this season, along with other super foods, and try out a savory pumpkin quiche.
