From pumpkin decorating to pumpkin spice puppy chow, Halloween is finally here. Today, we’re sharing Learning Liftoff’s editors’ picks for the top snacks, crafts, and other fun activities to wrap up the holiday weekend, October 31 – November 2.
These brownies literally get better with every item you toss on them. Pretzels? Sure! Leftover candy? Of course! Nuts? Why not?
Okay, back to eating our candy! Slide fruit, marshmallows and chopped candy bars onto skewers and serve as dessert. Or make a self-serve assembly line and call it a “candy bar”! Have the gang make their own skewers with their favorite combinations. For a truly over-the-top experience, dip these kebabs into a fondue.
Every year kids bring home unbelievable amounts of Halloween candy and you know it ends up one of two places: rotting their teeth or on Mom’s thighs. This year, consider something different. Donate that extra candy (after enjoying a few pieces, of course) to Operation Gratitude and they will send it to our troops. Other donation options include the Ronald McDonald House Charities, local shops that will donate to the USO, food pantries, pediatric wards, and nursing homes; and churches, synagogues and other places of worship generally have candy drop-offs, too.
