Parent-Approved DIY Fluffy Slime

If you get a group of kids together today, they are probably going to end up making slime. If you get their parents together, they are likely complaining about slime! These days, parents know the annoyance of the ever-popular DIY slime. The stickiness, the stained hands, the ruined carpet—we feel your pain! Because we care about your sanity, we found a simple, parent-approved DIY fluffy slime recipe that won’t stick to hands, furniture, or carpet. DIY Fluffy Slime Ingredients:

• About a cup or so of white glue (Off-brand is OK.)
• 2 Tbsp laundry detergent (Tide works great!)
• Pile of foamy shaving cream (No gels, please.)
• If not stretchy enough, you’ll need a little lotion.
• Add glitter and/or food dye to make it super fun!

DIY Fluffy Slime Instructions:

Step One – Pour glue into a bowl. Add 2 Tbsp of laundry detergent (serves as the activator), and top with a good pile of shaving cream.

Step Two – For fun decorations, add a few drops of your desired dye color. This is a great opportunity to teach kids about color combinations. Glitter makes your fluffy slime extra sparkly—just be prepared that you may have glittery hands and floors for days.

Step Three – Mix everything together using a utensil. Once thoroughly mixed, begin using your hands to knead the slime. It will feel very wet at first, but keep working at it until it becomes sticky. If you’ve made slime before, you know this step takes a little bit of time and patience. If the slime does not seem to stretch, add a little bit of lotion into the mixture and work it in with your hands. This should make it stretch much farther and feel smooth.
