New National Gallery App Puts Art History in Your Kids Hands

The National Gallery of Art has come out with an amazing, interactive app that helps kids explore more than 300 years of art history. With ten sections to explore, kids can learn about the art techniques of some history’s best artist. Recreate the works of Vincent van Gogh, Robert Rauschenberg, Mark Rothko, and many more. Personally, I was having way too much fun with the Rothko activity.

You and your kids will have a blast creating collages with land and seascapes, exploring color theory, expressing your creativity through action painting, and even creating “selfies” inspired by American folk paintings.

When sharing your art, don’t forget to tag them with #NGAkids so you can show the National Gallery of Art your creations. NGAkids Art Zone is available for free at the iTunes App Store for iPad.
